John C. Tune Airport opened in 1986 as a reliever airport for Nashville International Airport. It is located 9 miles northwest of downtown Nashville and 15 miles from Nashville International Airport. The airport has a 5500 foot runway, a modern 3600 foot terminal building, an Automatic Weather Observation System (AWOS), and Instrument Landing System (ILS).
